At first, there was nothing.
Then, two BBLS teens went out to dinner, and for whatever reason, started talking about newspapers, and The Deep End was created.
The Deep End was created on the final day of May, 2019, despite no one actually requesting a blog in the first place. Through the power of one cedar plank salmon, a chicken marsala, and two brownie sundaes, inspiration hit two residents of the BBLS neighborhood.
"Hey, remember that swim team newspaper from a few years ago?" Madan asked Kaila.
"What newspaper?" Kaila had no idea what he was talking about.
In that instant, The Deep End was born. A website where people can write, get useful (and sometimes not useful) information, and follow their favorite swim team; The BBLS Stingrays.
Of course, the blog is still in its infancy, and the idea is still being molded and changed. "It's a new experience for me," says Madan. "Like, I've never consistently written blog posts before, or formatted a website, or liked eating lettuce. That last part has nothing to do with the blog, I just really don't like lettuce. It's just so... weird..."
"I'm really excited for it," adds Kaila. "I think it'll really help bring the team together, and I can't wait to launch the site and get everyone involved. I think it'll make this season of swim team even more fun than before!"
